Die Räder im Getriebe

Stage technology is generally a secret and invisible to the audience. You are only aware of the stage set, music and lighting effects. A performance takes one or two hours; the technical set-up from unloading the set to the beginning of the performance often takes two full days.

In 2010, euro-scene Leipzig elicited great interest with a first insight into technical processes. The guided tour has developed into a popular programme element in its last nine editions. The focus is on history and a view into the Schauspielhaus’ spaces as well as the technical realization of the guest performance of three choreographies by Angelin Preljocaj from Aix-en-Provence; they will be shown as the conclusion of the festival on the same night.
