Misi Amaira Charmelle Hoogvliets

Misi Amaira Charmelle Hoogvliets is a 24 year-old Dutch-Surinamese community organizer and artist living in Berlin. After graduating from Bard College Berlin in May 2025, she has been working for the board of the Berlin Ballroom Pier e.V., where she manages projects such as “TgotT” or “Divine Armor”, a community sewing project teaching BIPOC trans* and genderquestioning youth to become skilled designers and creating their own gender affirming garments. As a freelance artist she has a particular interest in fashion design, Afrosurreal, queer screenwriting and filmmaking and performing.
