Tender Tantrum / Ara 007

Tender Tantrum exists in the in-between—in a state of sonic unrest, surrounded by an endless landscape of spoken word, drone ambient, and noise. She translates the experience of existing as a trans person in a hostile society into soundscapes that play with the possibility of disappearing while simultaneously demanding to be heard. Apathy, joy, longing, and alienation coalesce into a musical flow that captures the fragile tension between visibility and invisibility in everyday life and in public spaces.Since the early days of the Friday Functions organized by Leipzig’s ballroom community, tender tantrum—known there as Ara 007—has been active as a ballroom DJ. She is part of a community that turns resistance into a movement and creates spaces where bodies are allowed to simply be. Musically, she moves between soul, house, vogue beats, and Jersey club—genres that carry, propel, and give the dance floor its own language.
