12th Saxon Theatertreffen in Leipzig

In a regular biannual cycle, theatres from Annaberg-Buchholz to Zittau, from Plauen to Radebeul get together for the Saxon Theatertreffen. Of course, each of these theatres is special in its own way, but however different the individual circumstances may be, whether it is the municipal theatre of a metropolis or a theatre for an entire rural region – they are all venues for encounter and discourse and contribute to the design of social co-operation.

After a period of 10 years, Leipzig will once more be the venue for the Saxon Theatertreffen in May 2024, with TDJW and Schauspiel Leipzig as hosts. It is an opportunity for the audience to see what theatre can be and how artistically versatile the local theatre landscape is. And in addition to the eleven municipal, national and state theatres, productions from the independent scene will also be part of the programme.
