New Year's Eve 2019 at the Schauspielhaus
The tradition continues – welcome to the grand New Year’s Eve party at the Schauspielhaus with the songs of David Bowie!
David Bowie’s last great work, the musical “Lazarus”, based on his world hits, will guide us through the transition from 2019 to 2020.
Together with our ensemble and the large live-band, conducted by Stephan König, you will witness the story of the alien Thomas Newton: living on Earth in a peculiar, fever-dreamlike world of illusion and reality, he still dreams of “Life on Mars”… David Bowie’s equally hymnal and ethereal music merges with a unique (stage-)world: Songs like “Heroes” and “Life on Mars” are featured in this show, complemented by Bowie’s final compositions, created specifically for “Lazarus”.
As a special New Year’s Eve feature, Stephan König’s “Lazarus”-band will play live for you in the Garderobenhalle!
Once again, the grand performance, which is the highlight of our New Year’s Eve-package, will be complemented by catering from ENK. The entire Schauspielhaus will become a giant ballroom!
