Wenzel Banneyer was born in Aachen. After a short hip hop career in Bielefeld, he studied acting in Cologne. This was followed by several roles at Theater der Keller in Cologne and Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen. In 2002, he joined Theater der Stadt Aalen for three years, followed by three years at Landestheater Tübingen under the direction of Simone Sterr. From 2008/09 to 2012/13, he was a member of the acting company at Theater Chemnitz. There, his roles included the title role in Enrico Lübbe’s production of “Woyzeck”, Herodes Antipas in “Salome” (directed by Claudia Bauer) and the title role of “Liliom” in Marc Lunghuß’ production. In Chemnitz, he also worked with Bruno Cathomas, Schirin Khodadadian and Christian Brey.
Wenzel Banneyer has been a company member of Schauspiel Leipzig since August 2013.
