Gut Gemacht!
– Eine Versuchsanordnung über Werteverschiebung
What is the relationship between excellence and dilettantism and what might be more ingenious in dilettantism than in well-crafted excellence? “Gut Gemacht!” refers to the system of judgments “well done,” “poorly done,” and “not done at all” developed by French Fluxus artist Robert Filliou. Using this system, the choreographic work explores tactless dances, defiant singing, music with thunder sheet, flute and hurdy-gurdy, absurd tutorials and performed court transcripts.
Drawing on their speculative autobiographies, the artists engage with works by figures such as Gabriele Stötzer (Erfurt/GDR) and “Die Tödliche Doris” (West Berlin), who have influenced them. On both sides of the Wall, these artists challenged prevailing paradigms in art, music, lifestyle and social structures, resisting societal norms through artistic gestures. Upon an oversized billiard table, the four authors play a game with the contemporary rules of art.
Choreographer and visual artist Antonia Baehr creates sensual and humorous productions that open a new view of society. At Residenz, she has previously produced “Die besondere Perücke” together with visual artist Lucile Desamory. Jule Flierl is a dancer, performer and choreographer. Together with visual artist Mars Dietz, she produced “Wismut – a nuclear choir” at Residenz, a play about extractivism. The Leipzig-based choreographer and dancer Hermann Heisig has been a guest at Residenz several times, most recently with “Late Night DADA”, whereas Claire Vivianne Sobottke will perform here for the first time. She too is a choreographer, performer and dancer, and defines her work as a place where the norms of thinking and seeing can by challenged or altered.
