Gob Squad

Gob Squad are a British-German collective from Berlin who have been creating live performances on the interfaces of theatre, art and media since 1994. On their search for beauty and relevance in the mundane, they position their pieces both in theatres and right in the middle of the urban sphere. Utopian scenarios collide with the reality of a specific situation, often with an uncertain ending. By creating alternative spaces and formats for encounters, Gob Squad have been contributing to the dismantling of barriers between people from their beginnings. Gob Squad’s most recent co-production with Residenz was “1984 – Back to No Future”.
