During his exile in the USA in 1947, Bertolt Brecht was interrogated by the ‘House Committee on Un-American Activities’, which was supposed to combat communist activities. Majdalanie and Mroué link Brecht's case with their own exile experiences. The critical and humorous examination of the interrogation echoes the current political and social issues, the ideological confusion and the fierce and irreconcilable confrontation of opinions.
