OPEN-AIR-THEATER 2024
Im GRASSI-Innenhof
based on the silent film by F. W. Murnau
and the novel "Dracula" by Bram Stoker, in a version by Katharina Ramser
Some things simply belong together: Summer, for instance, and open air theatre in the summer air. And that goes for 2024, too. Except, things will be a little different this year. Because the summer of 2024 will come very early. And there will be plenty of theatre festivals in Leipzig from May: With the 4th ClubFusion of Schauspiel Leipzig, Oper Leipzig and Theater der Jungen Welt and the 12th Saxon Theatertreffen, two large-scale projects will happen back to back before the best time of the whole year begins in Saxony: the summer school holidays.
But even once the 2024 summer holidays are over, there will still be a lot of summer ahead and so Schauspiel Leipzig scheduled their summer open air production for this period: after the holidays, from 15 August 2024.

The performances will take place at one of Leipzig’s most beautiful open air venues: the Inner Courtyard of the Grassi-Museum.

Constructed in the heart of the city between 1925 and 1929, the museum building is shaped by a formal vocabulary between functionalism and art deco. And with its clear architecture, the Inner Courtyard provides a stage with a very special atmosphere for Schauspiel Leipzig’s 2024 summer theatre.

Exact dates to be announced later. Please refer to publications on our website and in our monthly programmes.
