LATE NIGHT DADA

Hermann Heisig (Leipzig/Berlin) / Artists in Residence
LATE NIGHT DADA is a choreographic circular economy in which bodies, objects, sounds and meanings are kept in constant motion, an absurd trip through a constantly changing landscape.

In the rooms of the Residenz, a course gradually unfolds between concert, collective rhythmic wandering, film projection and speech acts in the border area of movement, sound and language. The ensemble becomes a marching band that, together with the audience, repeatedly tests our relationship to space and time. In changing situations and images, sensual interspaces open up, stimulating reflection on sound, environment, presence and hospitality.

Hermann Heisig was born in Leipzig and lives as a choreographer, dancer and performer in Berlin. In 2018 he realized the group piece "slave to the rhythm" at the residency, a free interpretation of rhythmic-musical education after Émile Jaques-Dalcroze. Together with visual artist Angelika Waniek, he produced the duo "Ich steh auf und setz mich wieder hin (Feste des Handelns)" as part of KATAPULT - Performance Plattform Leipzig 2021.
